Oh Heavenly Dog is a movie with Chevy Chase and Benji the dog, where the dog gets top billing. A long series of jokes, and quiet a few coincidences (thanks trivial pursuit) lead to this movie being talked about none stop, and eventually purchased (at a grocery store).

The plot of this thing is so stupid it had to be amazing. Chevy Chase plays a private Detective with a cold who gets killed. Once in the afterlife he’s told he has to solve his own murder to get into heaven. So they send him back to earth as Benji (also with a cold). That plot is to stupid for it to not have at least funny moments.

HOLY SHIT.

This thing is one of the worst movies ever made. Not one of those it’s so bad it’s funny type deals either, just fucking terrible. Three of us watched this, within the first 40 minutes one person out a blanket of his head and went to sleep, a second just left the house altogether. The third person fell asleep during the last 30 minutes of this epic pile. Imdb claims this movie is 103 minutes long, I call bullshit on that. It was at least 2 hours. It just drags and drags. God.

See Maki, Chevy Chase does make bad movies. Terrible, terrible movies.
